About Solar WA

Solar Washington is a 501(c)3 non-profit association of solar energy equipment manufacturers, system integrators, distributors, dealers, designers, consultants, students, teachers, home-owners and other solar enthusiasts.  Our mission is to promote the development and effective use of solar and renewable energy and the related arts, sciences, and technologies with concern for the economic, environmental, and social fabric of Washington State through education. Our members support legislation to expand the role of solar in Washington’s energy supply to increase the state’s job market, tax base and clean energy use.

Our activities include solar education for the public, collaboration with like-minded organizations, educational meetings and networking events, and providing speakers and tabling displays at fairs, conferences and trade shows. Please get involved and help Solar Washington raise public awareness for this purpose.

We are the Washington State chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES).  Established in 1954, ASES is the nation's leading association of solar professionals and advocates. Their mission is to inspire an era of energy innovation and speed the transition to a sustainable energy economy by advancing education, research and policy.

ASES is the United States Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) headquartered in Freiburg, Germany and also established in 1954.  ISES is a UN-accredited NGO present in more than 50 countries that supports its members in the advancement of renewable energy technology, implementation and education all over the world.
