Inside Sales & Support Job Description

The Inside Sales & Support position is responsible for maintaining and building new sales, providing installation support, and coordinating shipping. This position is also critical for collecting and presenting market data for product development efforts. This position requires excellent customer service, organizational skills, and a solid technical understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems and their associated balance of system components (e.g., inverters, racking, etc.).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately process quotes and orders in a timely manner. 
• Maintain and expand sales through effective follow up with existing customers. 
• Process new customer accounts, maintain existing accounts, and assist in developing contact database. 
• Coordinate with Production on order fulfillment and sales forecasting. 
• Assist in establishing sales forecasts, sales goals and strategies for meeting them. 
• Support marketing efforts by attending trade shows and solar meetings (some travel, night, and weekend work required). 
• Provide hands-on and online product training to new installation partners. 
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in dealings with existing customers and potential customers. 
• Conduct detailed product presentations. 
• Work with Marketing and Communications to develop effective marketing materials. 
• Collect and report market, product, and competitor developments. 
• Conduct research to support new product design efforts and effectively participate in the development process. 
• Additional responsibilities may be required as the company strives to grow.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and sales-related accounting applications.

Education and Qualifications

• Integrity. 
• College degree in a technical field is preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1~2 years experience with solar PV and National Electric Code (NEC) issues. 
• NABCEP certification preferred. 
• Three years of sales experience. 
• Ability to work under general supervision, but exercise independent judgment.
