A&R Solar (www.a-rsolar.com) was named a finalist in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Washington’s Best Workplaces 2015. The company was founded in Seattle in 2007 by Andy Yatteau and Reeves Clippard as one of the first solar energy installation ventures in Washington State.
"Being a Best Place to Work finalist is validation for all of the hard work we've put in over the last nine years,” said company Founder and CEO Reeves Clippard. “We always work hard to make sure our employees come first so they can take care of our clients. At times just being a solar company attracts talented people. But I have to give credit where it's due--this recognition is about all of the incredible staff that have decided to make working with A&R more than just a job, more than just growing a technology, and more than just helping other people. We've decided to create a place where we can come to be inspired to be better people."
Employee owned and operated, A&R Solar is among region’s fastest-growing companies and is Seattle’s first Certified B Company for its high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It promotes a culture that values and respects diversity and inclusion in the traditional contractor field, and has grown the number of women and ethnic minority employees in the company. Every employee receives a yearly educational stipend for professional growth and development. Other benefits include paternity and maternity leaves, 401K matching, and generous vacation.
Washington’s Best Workplaces finalists are chosen based on employee and best practices surveys. A&R Solar scored among the highest in job satisfaction, employee relationships with managers, camaraderie with fellow employees, and opportunity for advancement among other criteria.
Award finalists and winners will be honored during a ceremony at Safeco Field in August and profiled in a special publication in the August 2015 Puget Sound Business Journal.
