Community Decarbonization Grants (due April 5, 2024)

Commerce is now accepting applications to support the planning, design, and construction of clean energy projects that will improve health, resiliency, and economic outcomes for communities that face inequitable risk from energy burden, pollution, and other environmental factors. For this round of grant funding, applicants will be required to demonstrate that projects benefit overburdened communities and vulnerable populations by improving environmental health conditions, reducing energy inequities, or strengthening community resiliency.

WHO: Educational institution; Federally recognized tribe; For-profit entity; Local government; Non-profit organization; Research institution; Retail electric utility; State agency; Tribes’ contracted service provider - Note: different eligibility for different types of projects.  For-profit entities, including investor-owned utilities, are required to provide non-state matching funds at a 1:1 (50%) ratio.

WHEN: Application opens: Feb. 22
Pre-application conference #1: Feb. 28, 2 p.m. Pacific Time – Register (Zoom)
Pre-application conference #2: March 13, 11 a.m. Pacific Time– Register (Zoom)
Completed applications due: April 5, noon, PT
Awardees and non-awardees notified: May 2024 (Exact date will be shared at a later time)
