THE BOARD

The current Solar Washington's Board of Directors is comprised of leaders and professionals from the solar industry, utilities and government, solar supporters, solar enthusiasts, and others who volunteer their time to help the organization with its mission to provide educational resources and opportunities. It is a working board where members provide general oversight but may also engage with the Executive Director in the organization's programs and activities.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

Annually, Solar Washington aims to fill seats that become available when board members complete their terms and cannot or do not choose to seek re-election.  For 2025, there will be 4 open seats on the eleven-member board. Board members serve two-year terms and are elected by the current Solar Washington members and sponsors.  

Guiding documents for future board members include the Solar Washington Bylaws and the Solar Washington Board Members Agreement.

The election process for board members is as follows:

- Using the forms below, submit a nomination to the chair of the Nominating Committee before December 20, 2024.

- The Nominating Committee reviews nominations and select a slate of 6 candidates to be presented for election by the members of Solar Washington.  Candidates will be informed of the Nominating Committee decision on or before December 30.

- The Election runs December 30 to January 17.

- The Annual Meeting will take place on January 17, 2025. Board candidates will be present virtually or in person at the meeting to deliver their final pitches to the members, who will have until midnight to cast their votes.

- The elected board members for 2025-2026 are informed on January 20 the latest and attend their first board meeting on January 30, 2025.
