We're hearing more and more about solar and storage in the national marketplace these days. But, what are the costs, logistics, equipment, and practicalities behind battery systems? Solar Washington invited Steve Higgins of Rolls Battery to present a webinar on Battery Based Systems: Design Considerations for Washington Solar which took place on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
The presentation addressed design considerations of battery based systems. Steve focused on topics such as battery-based grid tie, back-up, and off-grid installations, return on investment, sizing calculations, common mistakes when designing/installing and operating these systems.
Steve Higgins, Technical Services Manager at Rolls Battery Engineering, has worked in the Renewable Energy industry since 1995 with companies such as Trace Engineering, Xantrex, and Outback Power Technologies. Steve has accumulated over 25 years of hands-on experience and product knowledge related to battery-based renewable energy systems. This work has taken him around the world, assisting customers with design, commissioning, and troubleshooting small to large-scale battery-based installations. Steve makes use of his extensive experience by offering remote, classroom, and on-site professionally-certified training workshops for Dealers and Installers, covering proper design considerations, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of battery-based renewable energy systems. Thanks to Steve for presenting on this topic.
